Start the new school year creatively with child-friendly paint
It’s September and that means: back to school!. Back to school also means homework time again. You can use paint to create a nice study area for your child at home and start the new school year creatively. Here are some great ideas.
Colour colour on the wall
Your kids' favourite colour on the wall might be a good incentive to get them to spend more time in their study area. Warm colours like yellow, red and orange exude a positive atmosphere, creating a cheerful, energetic place in your home.
In addition, you can also do a lot for your child's ability to concentrate with a strategic choice of colours. For example, research shows that blue promotes studying. It is also a calming colour, making it ideal for a place where you want to be undisturbed.

Not only do you ensure a fresh start with a new colour on the wall, you can also ensure fresher indoor air quality at the same time. This is because there are air-purifying wall paints, which filter harmful substances from the wall. Great, right? You can order Rust-oleum Little Stars air-purifying wall paint in several fun colours, or you can opt for a mixing colour of your choice in the Sigma Air Pure Supermatt.
Your own blackboard
You can also give the wall an extra function by painting it (partly or completely) with blackboard paint. Your little artist can then indulge in drawing, writing or scribbling. Even if, as a parent, you want to practice some things with your child, you always have a handy blackboard nearby.
The MagPaint blackboard paint, just like the Little Stars paint, is water-based and therefore child-friendly. Water-based paint does not cause any odour nuisance during painting, little or no volatile substances are released and the paint dries quickly.

To make it extra fun, you can also apply magnetic paint under the board paint (or under regular wall paint), or use magnetic blackboard paint. With some letter and number magnets, you can then do lots of cool language and maths exercises. MagPaint magnetic paint and Little Stars magnetic blackboard paint are also water-based.

You can order MagPaint's blackboard paint in different colours. If you do not like dark colours such as black and dark green, you can also choose, for example, grey, lime, pink or blue. The Little Stars Blackboard Paint can also be ordered in pink, blue and red, in addition to dark green and black.

Of course, you can also go for a whiteboard instead of a chalkboard. We have special paint for that too.
Educational accessories
Apart from the wall, you can use paint to do lots of other fun things in the study area. Think about painting the desk, painting a chest of drawers, upcycling an old abacus,... Or how about these colourful painted wooden letters?

Again, you can use child-friendly paint for this, such as Little Stars furniture and toy paint. The water-based indoor paint Sigma Tigron Aqua is also certified and suitable for children's toys. This paint is also very scratch-resistant and very resistant to grease, dirt and household cleaners.
Another idea: introduce your child's favourite subject and colour(s) into the room, for example with this green dino bookend. Easy to make with two wooden boards, a toy dino, glue and Little Stars neon paint.
