For an optimal result, apply one coat of Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus, followed by two coats of Sikkens Cetol Filter 7.

Then this graying must always be completely removed first (by sanding or using a wood restorer; read more about this in our blog) before you begin. Gray wood fibers are essentially dead and prevent the stain from adhering properly, which can lead to premature peeling.
