How to apply Sikkens Alphacryl Morpha?
Preparation: Cover everything you don't want to paint, for this you can use masking film, masking cardboard and masking tape. For walls that have only just been painted or you want to apply several coats over a few days, purple masking tape is the best option.
Application: You can apply Sikkens wall paint as a primer and as a finish. On non-absorbent substrates you can therefore apply 2 to 3 layers. However, you do have an absorbent substrate. (You can test this by spraying water with a plant sprayer on your wall. If the water immediately soaks into your wall, you are dealing with an absorbent substrate and it is best to apply another primer. We recommend the Sikkens Alphacryl primer.
Ready? Enjoy the beautiful matt result, which you can keep clean at any time thanks to its washable properties. Nice bonus, we think.
How much Alphacryl Morpha do you need?
Not sure if you need the Sikkens Alphacryl Morpha in 10 litres, or better a combination of 5 litres, 2.5 litres and 1 litre? Then we have a handy overview for you here, showing you approximately how many m² you can paint with each pack.
Size | Surface in 1 layer | Surface in 2 layers |
---|---|---|
1 litres, white or mix colour | ± 10 m² | ± 5 m² |
2,5 litres, white or mix colour | ± 25 m² | ± 12,5 m² |
5 litres, white or mix colour | ± 50 m² | ± 25 m² |
10 litres, white or mix colour | ± 100 m² | ± 50 m² |
The bottom line is that with this Sikkens wall paint, you can probably paint between 9 and 11 m² with one litre, in one coat. For easier calculation, we use an average consumption of about 10 m² per litre. So then you could paint about 10 m² with 1 litre, and about 100 m² with 10 litres. If you want to apply two coats, you halve the surface area, so then you do about 5 m² with 1 litre. And so on as you want to apply more layers.
We always talk about ‘approximately’ here, because calculating how much paint you need is not an exact science. How much you really need depends on the surface (how much paint does it absorb?) and your painting style (do you use a lot of paint or not?). These things are not always easy to estimate in advance. It is better to order a little less paint than to end up with pots you can no longer use. You can always reorder and fortunately we have a lot of this product in stock!
