How to maintain your wooden garden furniture?
You can apply Xyladecor tuinmeubelolie either to new or slightly weathered wood.
Preparation: Always make sure your surface is clean, dry and healthy before you start. First remove all dust and loose dirt, then use the powerful cleaning agent for outdoor wood.
If your wood is very greying, you can use Xyladecor Degreaser to prepare your wooden surface. If you already have a stained or lacquered wooden table or bench, you will have to sand down to the bare wood in order to oil the furniture.
Application: Now that you have carefully read all the preliminary information, you can start applying the garden furniture oil. You apply a first coat with a brush and let it penetrate for 15 minutes. Then use a rag or lint-free cloth to wipe away the excess oil. After about 16h, you can apply the next layer in the same way. In total, you apply about 2-3 coats.
After this last step, you probably want to sit down on the treated wooden garden bench, but it is best to wait 24 hours before doing so.
Cleaning: Clean your painting materials with white spirit or white spirit, because the oil is solvent-based.
