How to use Sikkens Rubbol Primer
When painting exterior wood such as a front door for the first time, this solvent-based Rubbol Primer is an excellent choice. First, ensure thorough preparation of both the surroundings and the surface.
Cleaning: Make sure the wood is clean and free of dust. Ideally, clean the surface thoroughly using a degreaser diluted with water.
Sanding: Lightly sand the wooden surface with sandpaper, then remove all dust carefully.
Masking: Protect all areas that should not be painted. 3M Gold masking tape performs excellently both indoors and outdoors and is perfectly suited for use with Sikkens Rubbol Primer.
Priming: Apply 1 coat of Rubbol Primer for interior use and 2 coats for exterior use if you do not plan to overcoat within one week. Allow the primer to dry for 18 hours before applying another solvent-based layer, and 24 hours if choosing a water-based topcoat.
