How to apply Sikkens Alphacryl Perlino
Preparation: Protect any surfaces that shouldn’t be painted using masking film and masking paper, and painter’s tape. If you’re working on freshly painted walls or planning to apply multiple coats over a few days, purple 3M masking tape is the best option, as it can be removed easily without damaging the surface.
Application: Sikkens Alphacryl Perlino can be used both as a primer and a finishing coat. On non-absorbent surfaces, you can apply two to three layers directly. Unsure if your wall is absorbent? Simply spray a little water on it. If it soaks in immediately, your surface is absorbent and requires an additional primer. For the best results, we recommend using Sikkens Alphacryl Primer as a base coat.
Experience the beautifully velvety finish that stays effortlessly fresh. Thanks to its washable properties, keeping your walls clean has never been easier. Now that’s a bonus worth celebrating!
How much Alphacryl Perlino do you need?
Not sure whether to choose a 10-litre bucket or a combination of 5, 2.5, and 1 litre? This handy table below gives you an overview of the approximate coverage per pack size.
Size | Surface in 1 layer | Surface in 2 layers |
---|---|---|
1 litres, white or mix colour | ± 10 m² | ± 5 m² |
2,5 litres, white or mix colour | ± 25 m² | ± 12,5 m² |
5 litres, white or mix colour | ± 50 m² | ± 25 m² |
10 litres, white or mix colour | ± 100 m² | ± 50 m² |
On average, 1 litre of Alphacryl Perlino covers around 9 to 11 m² with a single coat. To simplify calculations, we estimate a coverage of 10 m² per litre. This means:
- 1 litre covers approximately 10 m² with one coat, or 5 m² with two coats.
- 10 litres covers approximately 100 m² with one coat, or 50 m² with two coats.
- The more coats you apply, the smaller the coverage per litre.
Keep in mind that these are approximate figures, as paint consumption depends on factors like surface absorbency and your painting technique. If the wall absorbs a lot of paint or if you apply thick layers, you may need more than expected.
To avoid waste, it’s often better to order slightly less and top up later if needed.
