How to: paint the bathroom
Which paint do I need? Can I use paint to prevent mildew in my bathroom? Here we give you all the answers and plenty of tips. Let's start with a step-by-step plan. Below you can find all the steps to paint your bathroom and a number of products you can use.
Step 1: preparation
Step 2: apply primer
The first part of good preparation is to clean and degrease the wall properly. If necessary, you can then smooth away any blemishes in the wall. After that, you can sand and dust everything and clean the wall again. When you've done all that, you'll have a good, well-prepared surface to work with. This is essential if you want the paint to adhere well.
A well-prepared wall can then be further prepared with a layer of primer. If the bathroom has been painted before, you don't need to apply a new layer of primer now.
Continue to step 3. You'll find it underneath our product suggestions.
Step 3: paint
Now it is time for the finish! It is best to apply two coats of regular wall paint or water-based lacquer. Below you can read more about the different paints you can use in your bathroom.
