What colour is Monuments Green?

Monuments Green (colour code N0.15.10) is a colour from the Sikkens Authentic Colours collection. It is a very dark shade of green, often used for windows and doors.  The Authentic Colours collection contains three other shades of green: Grachtengroen, which is an even darker shade of green, Standgroen and Rijtuigengroen, which are both a little less dark.

What is the Authentic Colours collection?

The Sikkens Authentic Colours collection has, apart from green, obviously several other colours that are frequently used for outdoor paintwork on monumental buildings. That is where they get their nickname from: the monument colours. Sikkens describes the collection as 'a series of stylish, modern, yet timeless colours', intended to remain classics for many years to come.

What can Monuments Green be used for?

As briefly mentioned above, the colour is often used to paint outside joinery, in different gloss level finishes. Monuments Green is literally and figuratively brilliant in high gloss, for example. Satin gloss is an excellent choice as well, as it offers the strength of gloss particles, yet combines it with the blemish camouflage properties of more matte coatings.
